Ho, ho, ho...

I just wanted to wish everybody a Merry Christmas! Here in Germany we celebrate Christmas on the 24th. I had my in laws over and my mom. It was a pretty fun night with good food and of course some nice presents. Here are just a couple of pics from last night, including my outfit and our wonderful table decoration which the hubby put together.

Halloween

Hello to everybody that still follows my blog. It seem like I haven't posted anything in about 10 years. So here is just a quickie. I celebrated my 26th birthday a few weeks ago and I love themed parties so I decided to have a Halloween theme this year. There was tons of food, everybody had really good costumes and we just had a really good time overall. There was so much going on so I totally forgot to take pictures especially of my costume. Here's one good shot that I managed to steal from my friend.

The Right to Bare Arms...

I know that a lot of big girls have issues with showing their arms. For a long time I did as well, but then I started thinking "my arms are pretty big so a sweat is not really going to hide that". If people don't like them or think it looks gross, oh well though luck because I'm not going to hide them anymore. So either you look away or you can do as I do, accept them. I have a fat body, so of course I"m going to have fat arms, it only makes sense.
Here's an outfit that I wore a few weeks back. It's simple but sometimes simple is good. I was so happy when I found this vest... on sale... at H&M. They've had it at the store for a while but I was never willing to pay 40 euro for it which i think was the original price. So I was super excited when I spotted the vest on the sales rack for 15 euro. Even though it was already pretty warm out and the vest is wool I just had to get it. Paired with this tube top it ended up not being all that hot.
I've scored quite a few bargains these past few weeks. My motto is "never pay full price for anything", even if you have to wait around a little while until it goes on sale. I'll try to do a post on those things soon. Now on to the pictures.

Please Forgive Me...

I know I've been MIA for a while and I feel really bad about it. Winter has hit us pretty hard so my outfits pretty much consist of sweaters, leggings and my favorite boots from Evans. So there hasn't really been anything worthy of a post.
On another note, I am super excited for Christmas. I have gotten some really awesome presents for some of my family this year which I cannot wait to give to them. I will go into more detail after Christmas.
I promise there will be a bigger post coming soon because I have made quite a few super cute purchases lately and I also have some exciting news. I will leave you now with a picture of my "winter uniform".

Stay warm...

Inspiration...

So I was talking before about how I've sort of lost my inspiration for creating new outfits. Well I think I've found some inspiration. One of my favorit blogs is MusingsofaFatshionista, Christina just always manages to look amazing and keep things interesting even though her outfits usually consist of all black. Since I bought my black maxi dress yesterday I thought I should just keep it nice and simple. I added my new black knitted vest instead of opting for a pop of color, which is what I would normally do. I threw on my H&M wedges that I got from my bestie for my birthday and added a somewhat masculine rope necklace and bangles. So the outfit is simple but I totally love it for some reason...

Please excuse my even worse than normal posing but I was/am exhausted and my feet were killing me so I just wanted to get it over with.

Fangs n' Thangs...

ok I have to admit that title is pretty cheesy. Anyhow, here in Germany people are just now getting around to celebrating Halloween. I suppose Fasching here would be the equivalent to Halloween in the US. It always starts with Weiberfastnacht on 11 Nov at 11.11am. On that day most businesses will only be open half day because everybody goes out partying afterward especially when you live in the Cologne area. Traditionally all the women go around and cut off the men's ties to "take the power" from them. Fasching lasts for a pretty long time until March or so. Throughout that time there's all sorts of get togethers where people dress up and there's all kinds of parades etc. I supposed you could also compare it a little bit to Mardi Gras.

So, back to what my post was originally going to be about... my Halloween costume. It's no secret that I LOVE the Twilight series, so it only made sense to dress up as a Vampire. I was all decked out with fangs and everything. On to the pictures... Please excuse the shiny face, these pictures were taken after the Party.

Happiness...

what is it? A loving husband? A best friend that's always there for you no matter what? An amazing mom that you would never give away for anything in the world? A job that pays good for somebody who doesn't have a degree? It wasn't enough for Julia Roberts, can it be enough for me? Is it possible to ever find true happiness? If we do will we know it? In this day in time with the capabilities that we have shouldn't everybody have the right to be truly happy? Is the key to true happiness simply eating, praying and loving?
I wonder if I've ever been truly happy. I'd like to think that I have, but then why do I feel the way I feel sometimes. How is it even possible to be unhappy having the things that I have? Maybe this superficial world just isn't for me?! Maybe I don't need more of what I have, but less? What if I was born into a different world, a world where makeup, designer clothes, what car you drive and what other people think of you didn't matter? Would I be happier? Could I be happy with just the simple things in life? I'd like to think that I'm not that shallow but in reality I think it's almost impossible these days to not be. Everyday you're told by the media, by people that you meet, maybe even by your friends and family, that unless you have the looks, the money or a nice house it can't be possible that you're satisfied with your life or that you're happy. I think it could be that all those things are what is making me unhappy. It's just become a way of life though and it's what I'm used to and feel comfortable with, so the chances of me changing any of this are pretty slim. So I guess I will never really know what the answers to my questions are.

I'd like to think though that I'd be ok on my little boat out on the ocean with my husband...

So back to my superficial life, here's the outfit that i wore today.

Swirls...

It's been pretty cold here in Germany so I've been dressing a little bit more for comfort rather than style. Instead of wearing tights I usually throw on some leggings underneath skirts or dresses, just to keep myself a little bit warmer. Besides pink, black has to be my favorite color but I usually try to throw in a pop of color to make my outfits a little bit more fun. Be gentle with me because I'm still trying to figure out the whole picture thing.
