Baring it all... Well, almost.

I'm part of an amazing group on Facebook. There are 32 girls and we met through an online used clothes sales group. We are spread all throughout Germany and only know each other via Internet. We're all plus size and love fashion. We talk about everything from relationships to clothes or give each other advice on whatever might be going on in our lives at the moment.

The other day one of the girls asked us whether we wear bikinis or only bathing suits and this question somehow turned in to her asking to see our bellies. Now, I would say that this is a problem area for most women anyway. With us being plus sized I'd say that most of us probably try to hide that area of our body the most. I expected most of us to deny her request but all of a sudden I saw belly after belly pop up on my screen. Soon most of us including myself had just bared one of our biggest "problem" areas to a bunch of strangers. I was so amazed how everybody participated without hesitation. However, I also noticed how critical everybody was of their own body, yet when it came to other bodies they were so forgiving and nice. I'm one of the heavier girls in the group, if not the heaviest and not one person had anything negative to say. In fact, one of the girls complimented me for looking so confident in my picture. The comments they made about their own pictures were not so nice. They were unhappy with how wide their hips are or how the top of their bellies stood out too far, yet other girls who had similar bodies seemed beautiful or even sexy to them.

My point with this story is that we should be as kind and forgiving to our own bodies as we are to others at times. Whether we're fat, skinny, short, tall, small boobs, big boobs whatever it might be, we need to learn to get along with our bodies and realize that we can be just as attractive as the other girl who's body we might wish we had. Love the skin and the body you're in.

I want to thank all my girls from the Facebook group for being so awesome and for supporting each other. For being able to talk to each other truthfully, without anybody being offended. For being strong woman who lift each other up rather than tearing each other down or seeing each other as competition. A special thanks to the three girls who let me use their belly shots. Thank you for trusting me and encouraging me to write this.

I'm back!

I've been asked by numerous people over the last few weeks, why i don't blog anymore? I didn't really have a good answer, so I decided to give it another try. One of the biggest problems I had previously, is that I was just being to hard on myself, always comparing my blog to others. There will be no more of that. Either people like my blog or they don't! This time around you'll be seeing more than just fashion and I'm sure we'll have tons of fun together!

Also, I've entered a contest to win a photo shoot. It's being put on by Sheego, a plus size retailer here in Germany. So, if you have a minute and would like to vote (which you can do here) for me I'd really appreciate it. As of right now, my picture is on page 4 but that could change at any time.

I actually have an outfit to accompany today's post. I promise the pictures will get better!

Ho, ho, ho...

I just wanted to wish everybody a Merry Christmas! Here in Germany we celebrate Christmas on the 24th. I had my in laws over and my mom. It was a pretty fun night with good food and of course some nice presents. Here are just a couple of pics from last night, including my outfit and our wonderful table decoration which the hubby put together.

Halloween

Hello to everybody that still follows my blog. It seem like I haven't posted anything in about 10 years. So here is just a quickie. I celebrated my 26th birthday a few weeks ago and I love themed parties so I decided to have a Halloween theme this year. There was tons of food, everybody had really good costumes and we just had a really good time overall. There was so much going on so I totally forgot to take pictures especially of my costume. Here's one good shot that I managed to steal from my friend.

The Right to Bare Arms...

I know that a lot of big girls have issues with showing their arms. For a long time I did as well, but then I started thinking "my arms are pretty big so a sweat is not really going to hide that". If people don't like them or think it looks gross, oh well though luck because I'm not going to hide them anymore. So either you look away or you can do as I do, accept them. I have a fat body, so of course I"m going to have fat arms, it only makes sense.
Here's an outfit that I wore a few weeks back. It's simple but sometimes simple is good. I was so happy when I found this vest... on sale... at H&M. They've had it at the store for a while but I was never willing to pay 40 euro for it which i think was the original price. So I was super excited when I spotted the vest on the sales rack for 15 euro. Even though it was already pretty warm out and the vest is wool I just had to get it. Paired with this tube top it ended up not being all that hot.
I've scored quite a few bargains these past few weeks. My motto is "never pay full price for anything", even if you have to wait around a little while until it goes on sale. I'll try to do a post on those things soon. Now on to the pictures.

Faves...

I've had this dress forever and it one of my faves. It's so easy to dress up or down. Whenever I can't come up with anything good to wear, I just throw this dress on put a cardie or bolero over it, add some cute shoes and off I go.
I'm also wearing my all time favorite bolero. This thing goes with everything. I have a lot of maxi dresses that I feel are often too dressy for work. So I throw this bolero over it and it instantly makes it a little bit more casual. The shoes I'm wearing have also become one of my favorite pairs. I go them a while back at H&M. It was like they were waiting for me to come in and buy them. They were the only ones left and happened to be my size, so I couldn't say no to that. For 20 euros they were a bargain too.

I'm Alive...

yes, I am still alive. I've just had a lot going on and I also do not have internet right now. We just bought a house so I've been trying to get unpacked. At the moment we don't have internet either but it's supposed be hooked up on friday. This is why I haven't been able to post anything. Hopefully by the end of the month everything will be squared away and I can get back to bloggin normaly.

Yummy...

today's post is going to be a little different. I made some delicious dinner and thought I'd write about it. I've been trying to eat a little bit healthier because I haven't been feeling all that great. It's amazing how different my bodies feels when I cut out processed food. I could already feel the difference after one day. Something I struggle with is, drinking enough water. So I try to make sure that I drink at least one bottle (1.5 liters) of water at work because once I'm home I tend to forget to drink. Actually I drink water infused with tea because plain non carbonated water basically makes me gag. I figure that's better than not drinking at all.

So moving on to the food. I made shrimp kebabs in coconut oil  and garlic, green asparagus, pico de gallo and rye bread. I LOVE pico de gallo but this was the first time I've ever made it myself and it turned out pretty good. I used red and yellow tomatoes to make it a little bit more colorful, cilantro, shallots, lemon juice, fresh pepper and sea salt. Super easy and delicious.

Just a Quicky...

I actually managed to take a pic of my outfit today just before I ran out to a birthday party. I feel super uncomfortable if I wear just jeans and a sweatshirt. It's just too underdressed for me. So when I do wear jeans I usually go for casual/dressy, which is exactly what I went for today.

Hanging My Head In Shame...

I've been a horrible blogger, I know. Hopefully the few followers that I do have aren't too upset with my lack of posting.

I've had a lot going on. The Hubby and I recently went on a trip to NY for his 30th birthday. We had a fabulous time. I promise to post some pics soon. I really wasn't able to get any good shots of any of my outfits because it was super cold and snowing. So most of the time I just tried to stay warm. We also moved in with my mom because we're buying a house, which is super exciting. So until the whole loan is approved we're living with her and it's actually really nice living at "home" again. My job also moved, which is why we're buying a house. I love our new office including the new furniture that we got. The area that we're in is really nice too, lots of nature. We have an amazing view because we're right on top of a hill and sunshine all day.

So, as you can tell, my life has been everything but boring. I'm going to attempt to post more outfits. I'm trying not to buy a lot of new things since I have to start shopping for the house soon. Also, half of my stuff is packed and in storage, so I will have to get a little creative with what I have.

Please stay tuned for my next outfit post coming really soon.

Here I Come...

It's been forever since I've made a new post. There's no excuse for that other than my lack of motivation. Anyhow, I hope everybody had a great Christmas and started off the year in a good way.
So, I'm super excited to share with you that I will be going to NYC in about 3 days. I cannot wait!!! I got the trip as a birthday gift for the hubby, since he'll be turning 30 next week. When I come back, I should be getting back into the groove of things and posting more outfits. Especially since I plan on doing some serious shopping.
I have tons of other exciting things going on right now too. One of them being that the hubby and I have decided to buy our first house together. I can't wait to get out of this small apartment. There is no room in here what so ever. We're actually looking at a house tomorrow that we're both really excited about because it has everything that we want/need. A double garage, and office, 3 bedrooms and a separate dressing room which is awesome because you almost never have that in German houses. I'll be sure to keep you updated on that too.

So that this is not a total picture less post, here's a picture of me and my mommy on Christmas eve.

Please Forgive Me...

I know I've been MIA for a while and I feel really bad about it. Winter has hit us pretty hard so my outfits pretty much consist of sweaters, leggings and my favorite boots from Evans. So there hasn't really been anything worthy of a post.
On another note, I am super excited for Christmas. I have gotten some really awesome presents for some of my family this year which I cannot wait to give to them. I will go into more detail after Christmas.
I promise there will be a bigger post coming soon because I have made quite a few super cute purchases lately and I also have some exciting news. I will leave you now with a picture of my "winter uniform".

Stay warm...

Pop goes the World...

my world went pop and all kinds of crazy on Monday because I got to see The Gossip! Beth was right there in front of me. She is so amazing. Even though she's a celeb, she's so down to earth always joking around. This time about her herpes that she thought was the only thing that people were looking at, which she supposedly got from Fergie. It felt like hanging out with a good friend who happens to be a pretty damn good singer. She's such a sweetheart. She even took the time after the show to sign some autographs, only to be bothered by her stupid security people and her girlfriend saying that they have to go because the bus is leaving. Umm hello? I don't think she's taking public transportation so the bus just needs to wait. Unbelievable... Anyway, I managed to squeeze in between the masses of people and got THE last autograph before she left. Yaaaaay, sorry but I'm just a little bit excited about that. So if The Gossip are ever in a city near you, make sure you go to the concert!!!

As promised I wore my new fascinator to the concert with my sequined dress. I've been having this happen a lot where I have this idea for an outfit but then when I put it on it just doesn't work for me. This is exactly what happened with this outfit. I think if the dress was a bit shorter and if I would have been able to wear heels then it would have worked for me. So, since I wasn't that happy with the outfit there's only one picture of the outfit but tons of pictures of Beth.

Loved her dress and her Louboutin ballerinas, she's so fierce!

She changed her dress for the encore. Super cute.

Yes, she was right above me. I even touched her :-)

Right before she signed my ticket.

Better late than never...

Happy Thanksgiving and all that jazz. Sorry, I know I'm a little late. We had thanksgiving at my friends house, so I didn't have to cook, which was nice. I actually spent most of the day shopping with my mom. We got out makeup done, had some good lunch and I bought the cutest little fascinator from H&M, which I will be wearing on Monday for the Gossip concert. Yeah, I know you're jealous, I get to see Beth. Can't wait!!! Anywho, we didn't get to my friends house until after 4pm, so by the time we actually ate it was dinnertime. There was lots of delicious food and of course I ate way too much. Here's what I wore. I threw it together last minute because I didn't have time to really think about what I was going to wear because I spent too much time shopping. So there's all sorts of new things going on. I dyed my hair. It's no secret that I'm in love with Rihanna's style so I was trying to go red. Well that didn't really work out as I had planned. I guess that's what I get for trying to save a buck and did it myself (actually the hubby did it). The color turned out super dark, it basically looks black but in the sunlight you can see that it's red. I still like it though. Also if you notice, there's something missing... my glasses. I got contacts. I love my glasses and all but sometimes they take over my face too much, especially when I'm wearing makeup. I have to get used to them but so far I like them. You'll also be meeting my faithful companion, my sequined hobo bag from Zara. I love this bag so much and yes this is my everyday bag. A bit of sparkle is always a do! I also bought this new lipstick from wet n' wild. Don't judge, I'm on a budget. The color is amazing, I want to wear it everyday. Now, on to the pictures, sorry for the shininess, these were taken when I got home so my makeup was not at it's best.

Inspiration...

So I was talking before about how I've sort of lost my inspiration for creating new outfits. Well I think I've found some inspiration. One of my favorit blogs is MusingsofaFatshionista, Christina just always manages to look amazing and keep things interesting even though her outfits usually consist of all black. Since I bought my black maxi dress yesterday I thought I should just keep it nice and simple. I added my new black knitted vest instead of opting for a pop of color, which is what I would normally do. I threw on my H&M wedges that I got from my bestie for my birthday and added a somewhat masculine rope necklace and bangles. So the outfit is simple but I totally love it for some reason...

Please excuse my even worse than normal posing but I was/am exhausted and my feet were killing me so I just wanted to get it over with.

Where'd my Sleeves go...

The colder it gets the more I'm realizing that I really need to invest in some clothing that has sleeves. My closet is full of tops and dresses but the majority is either sleeveless or the sleeves are short. For now I guess I have to layer. The outfit today isn't all that exciting and I also don't really like the blazer anymore after seeing the pictures. Oh yeah, please welcome my new boots that I got from Evans. I basically only take them off when I go to bed. I'm so glad I kept them. So here goes nothing...

Blazer & Necklace- Torrid, Dress- H&M Maternity, Leggings- H&M BiB, Boots- Evans

Stay tuned for tomorrows outfit. I think it's gonna be pretty cute. Went shopping with the bestie today and found a super cute black maxi dress WITH sleeves and an exposed zipper at H&M. It's also no secret that I love cardigans, shrugs, vests, boleros etc. so I just couldn't pass up this thick knitted waterfall vest that i also saw at H&M. It's so nice and soft, it might make an appearance tomorrow as well.

I have returned...

I've made it back home from my mini vacation to Bavaria. It's kind of funny that I live so close to all these tourist attraction but I've never been to so many of them. I got this really good deal on a 4 star hotel in Fuessen inlcuding breakfast and a 5 course candle light dinner. The castle Neuschwanstein happens to be right around the corner too and it's absolutley beautiful. So my hubby and I spent the last 3 days relaxing, eating and sightseeing. It was a well needed break.

I didn't take very many pics of my outfits because they were a little too casual. However I took plenty of pics of yummy food and the scenery.

Enjoy!

Yes, there was snow on the mountains.

Our room, simple and clean.

The bathroom was nice and spacious.
This was my outfit for our candle light dinner. Dress & Bolero- Torrid, Heels- H&M, Necklace- Swarovski

Me and the Hubby at our lovely dinner table.
This was actually the second course, potatoe foam soup.

Grape sorbet, yummy.

They chef was nice enough to make this just for me since I don't like meat that much. I love salmon though.

This was the actual main course, veal with pasta.

The dessert was sooo good, grape mouse with chocolate netting and vanilla foam.

The next day, after walking around in the rain all day we got a wonderful ayurvedic massage.
The view outside our bedroom window.

We had some amazing indian food, this was the only picture we could take because we got yelled at by the owner.

Last day, we took a horse carriage up to the castle because it's a 40 min walk up the hill.

This is the other castle that King Ludwig II had build, Hogenschwangau.

There it is, Castle Neuschwanstein.
The view once we got up the hill, stunning.

We could have walked to the bridge on the other side but it would have been another 20 min walk. It was just as nice from this side.
Me and the Hubby right outside the castle.
Inside the courtyard waiting for our tour to start.
